September Breakfast Program
To Use Design Build or Not to Use Design Build? If that is the question, what is the answer?
Design-build has become a growing alternative to the conventional design-bid-build and construction management delivery method. Today, design-build projects make up 40% of the construction market and continue to gain momentum. With this growing trend, construction managers and owners need to become familiar with the available design-build choices. In this presentation, design-build professionals will discuss the benefits and challenges of the four major variations of design-build, compared to the traditional delivery methods. This session will also provide an overview of how construction managers can act as a Prime in a contractor-led design-build scenario. Cutler Associates and The S/L/A/M Collaborative, two of the leading design-build firms in New England, will share their experiences using this delivery system. Representatives from these two unique firms will highlight the differences between their approach and process.
